Abstract: Objectives To monitor territory occupancy and nest productivity by Accipiters (sharp-shinned hawks and Cooper's hawks) and thrushes (Swainson's thrushes, hermit thrushes and veeries). This project is part of Cornell Laboratory of Ornithology's Birds in a Forested Landscape project, a nationwide effort to gather breeding data on Accipiters and thrushes. Findings and Status Eight sites were checked for Accipiters and thrushes during the breeding season. No Accipiters were detected. Hermit thrushes were detected at three sites (Bailey Creek road, near Heron Pond and southwest of Leek's Marina road). Swainson's thrushes were found at five sites (Bailey Creek road, west of Grand View Point, near Colter Bay corral, nature trail island near Colter Bay and southwest of Leek's Marina road); nesting was likely at the last two sites, but no nests or young were observed. Data has been submitted to the Cornell Laboratory of Ornithology for analysis as part of their Birds in a Forested Landscape project.
