Abstract: Objectives To record the occurrence, distribution, and bionomic factors of the mosquito fauna of Grand Teton NP. These bionomic factors include blood host preferences, biting periods, adult and larval habitat descriptions, and determination of the most efficient methods of monitoring pestiferous and disease-associated species. Findings and Status 1. Completed collection of larval and adult mosquitoes on 09/13/1998. 2. As of 02/16/1999, species identification of larval specimens has been completed; species identification of adult mosquito specimens is approx. 50 per cent completed. 3. Approx. 3,000 non-mosquito Diptera specimens were inadvertently collected by light trap method. The process of mounting and identifying these specimens to species level is expected to take a great deal of time. For those specimens for which I lack expertise and taxonomic references, I shall attempt to secure the assistance of qualified experts for those families. 4. I expect to deliver mosquito specimens for inclusion in Grand Teton NP museum collection in late summer 1999. 5. I anticipate receipt of several GIS map products from GRTE staff at a future date.
