Abstract: ObjectivesTo determine patterns of habitat use, food habits, activity patterns, movements, and home range size for a sample of randomly captured black bears. To evaluate the temporal and spatial patterns of habitat use of sympatric grizzly and black bears. Findings and Status IGBST trapping efforts were conducted between 27 April and 27 May and between 19 August and 4 September in Bear Management Units 17 and 18 in Grand Teton National Park. A total of 7 grizzly bears and 9 black bears were captured during 137 trap nights. All grizzly and black bears were handled, instrumented with radiocollars, and released on site. GTNP has received copies of all handling data. Additional information may be obtained from our annual reports, which should be available late summer 2002.
