Abstract: Migration patterns and seasonal ranges for 63 radio-collared female mule deer were determined based on 1991-92, 1992-93, and 1993-94 seasonal movements. The Badwater herd unit (BHU) mule deer population consisted of both migratory and non-migratory animals. Patterns of migration were influenced by winter severity. Greater than 10% interchange occurred across the BHU boundary into adjacent herd units during all 3 winters. Distribution of mule deer remaining in the BHU during winter was consistent with winter range boundaries, delineated by the Wyoming Game and Fish Department, during both mild and severe winters. Deer use of winter range habitat was examined using a use versus availability approach. Variables characterizing deer-use sites and random sites were measured and compared to identify selectivity patterns. Six physio-topographic categories within winter range were identified and deer use patterns among them were compared. Vegetation variables describing use sites and random sites were separated into, and compared within, physio-topographic categories. Habitat management and enhancement recommendations were developed.

Well Brian, I'd say that after reading ugtorhh the post and all the comments should glean you the answer, sounds like you got a nice 4 5 because standard speak doesn't include the eyeguards. Technically Speaking yes B & C counts the eyeguards but let me put this to the readers, how many of us will ever be submitting a deer for the books? I doubt I ever will but yes, I do know that part of the 200 inches of the buck I'll never shoot includes the eyeguards. The monster I got this year is an 80lb 2 2, no eyeguards and I'd bet he eats better than a big buck any day.
