Abstract: Human activities can affect habitat per se, availability of habitat, and/or mortality risk to animals. Cumulative effects is the combined effect upon a species and its habitat at any point in time caused by all human activities across the analysis area. A Cumulative Effects Assessment (CEA) model has been developed for grizzly bears in the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem to analyze the collective effect of the various human activities at a point in time (Weaver et al 1986).
